Priorities

Trying to catch up on my blog posts I've missed posting about the funny things the kids do.  So, even though it is out of order, I had to post the conversation I heard between Alex and Carter yesterday.

Alex:  Carter--is that real gold?

Carter:  It really is real gold--my whole name written in gold (at this point I realize they are talking about his name engraved on his scriptures)

Alex:  Wow!

Carter:  Yep, I could sell that gold for about a million dollars I think.

Alex:  Are you going to?  (The two of them have been saving their money for a LONG time to buy the latest video game console)

Carter:  No--because if I sold it then I wouldn't have my scriptures anymore...and I really like to read the Bible.  So I'm just going to keep the gold on my scriptures.

Alex:  Yeah.

I love that he thought there was real gold on his scriptures....but I love even more that he didn't want to get rid of his scriptures even for the thought of a million dollars in gold!

A precious moment between clutter and squablling, thanks so much for sharing it. If you chose to, it would be worthy of a submission to one of the church magazines.
