I've decided to plan a fun activity with the kids each Friday afternoon. During the week, the kids have so much homework and other commitments that it is hard to do much of anything. So I've decided to implement Friday Fun Days where we do something fun each week. It may be going somewhere, or playing games, doing a craft or watching a movie. I'm going to start sharing our different activities so we can remember our good (and bad) ideas!Friday, October 2nd we went to Chuck E Cheese.
It wasn't raining and we went right after school. One important thing to consider is that Chuck E Cheese is NOT fun when it is crowded--rain, a weekend, or school holiday is sure to mean crowds.
I found a coupon online for 100 tokens for $10 and I put dinner in the oven on time bake so it would be ready when we got home--so I wouldn't be tempted to stop and buy something (thus increasing the cost of the activity).
After we got the tokens, I gave Caroline and Carter each 5 tokens and I walked around with Alex. 5 Tokens seemed to work perfectly--they had to come find me every 10-15 minutes for more tokens (thus helping me keep track of them), I was able to do things with Alex (keeping track of him) and since it wasn't crowded it wasn't too hard to watch the other two kids most of the time. I carried Aaron in the carrier and he was completely happy watching all the lights and all the kids running around.

I discovered I'm really good at a game where you have to stop a light right at the finish line--if you do then you get the jackpot of tickets (between 51 and 70). I did this 5-6 times and Caroline played a Wheel of Fortune game and got 60 tickets and then when we added in all the other tickets the kids won we had 572 tickets. It was enough that each of the kids got enough for a decent prize and a few small ones.We left when the tokens ran out--we had spent 1.5 hours there and we were all having a great time. All the way home we told jokes and laughed-it was so fun. Dinner was waiting when we walked in the door, which made me happy.
$10 for a very fun afternoon for 4 kids was not bad at all. We will definitely be doing this one again!

I agree $10 is a good activity for 3 children, though I am not a fan of Chuck E Cheese. The kids get to go once a year unless invited by someone else. 1 time a year is all I can tolerate.
Weeknights are great there. We went on a Tuesday for one of the kids' birthdays and there were only 2 other families there.
