Since the kids didn't have school on Friday, Shanna and I decided to take our kids to the pumpkin patch. It sounded like a great idea--except that there was not a single pumpkin patch open in the morning--we looked at everything within a 40 minute drive and there.was.nothing. Finally Shanna remembered that Stone Mountain has a pumpkin patch and some activities in their little village and
miraculously it was actually open in the morning.

There were lots of pumpkins dressed as characters from various books---this was Rapunzel.
We had invited Catherine, Lisa and my mom, and all the kids (of course) so we had quite the crowd. We ate a picnic lunch when we arrived and then headed out to all the activities.

First was painting pumpkins....
luckily the paint turned out to be washable--that is all I'm sayin.

Then they had crowns or sunglasses you could color/decorate

Then joined Jack and Aidan on the rocks

After the crowns we arrived at the most enjoyed area....
The "Suds 'N Such Pumpk - O - Mat"
otherwise known as a bubble pit--as in dish soap bubbles

bubbles would come out of the holes in the pumpkins for a while, then stop. Once the bubbles had started to die down the employees would turn them back on again to fill up the 'pit'

It must have been special soap, because while the kids often wanted their eyes cleaned off, it never bothered them--they just went right back in and jumped in head first.

I can't decide what to title this picture--bubble boy or stay-puff marshmallow man...you would never know he was wearing green camouflage pants

There was also a big bouncy slide thing next to the pumpk-o-mat that the kids had fun on---well, once their clothes were changed they did
After we dragged all the kids out of bubbles, we headed home. We were hoping for rain to complete the bath, but no such luck ;) It was actually really hot and humid--we had a hard time thinking of Fall and Halloween when it was hot and humid and felt more like the 4th of July!
The fun was not over--we then headed to Grandma's house to watch a movie and eat
dinner popcorn.

The popcorn was great, the movie was great (longer than we thought, but the remote helped with that problem) and the kids were exhausted. We headed home and had a
snack dinner then went to bed. Another successful Friday Fun Day.
This Friday Fun Day only cost us $10 as well, we spent it on parking for Stone Mountain.
