It's all how you look at it

Yesterday I took the kids to Target. All 4 kids, just before lunchtime, and had to wait for 3 prescriptions to be filled.

Let's just say that by the time I was checking out I was just trying to get out of the store without losing it (not helped by the lady behind me that kept making comments about my purchases... "wow--I bet you wouldn't have bought some of that stuff if your kids were in school", etc).

Finally I had checked out (literally and figuratively) and was pushing the cart to get out of the store and restrain put the kids in their car seats.

I felt a large bump and Carter looked at me from under the shopping cart. Yes--I had just run over my son, whose asthma has been horrible and had laid down on the floor to rest while I paid.

I went right over to him, gave him a hug and apologized--hoping he wasn't hurt....

Carter: Mom, it almost got my spot.
Me: ???
Carter: My itchy spot--the wheel almost got to my itchy spot, that would have been nice. If you are going to get run over by a shopping cart, it isn't so bad if it can get your itchy spot too.
Me: ?????
Carter: See? (Proceeds to itch his ankle)--I had an itchy spot and the cart almost scratched it for me.
Me: Laughing--I guess it is all how you look at it.

We were eating dinner the other day and Carter made some funny comment. Caroline told him "Carter, you are perfect blog material".

At least he didn't cry and make for even more drama. Caroline's comment is funny!

love it. I think my kids would have screamed something dramatic about me trying to kill them and having lost my love for them...
