Today was Alex's first day of preschool. Friday he went to school to meet his teachers and see his classroom. His teachers (Mrs. Ely and Mrs. Littlewood) are the same teachers that Caroline had when she was four. In fact, his teachers and I were talking about when Alex was born. The first place I went to after leaving the hospital was to the school for Caroline's preschool graduation program--I didn't even go home first. So Alex's was in that classroom when he was only 2 days old and now he is back as a big 4 year old!
Alex has been so excited for school to start--he loves doing anything that Carter and Caroline do, and it has been hard seeing them go to school and having to stay home with mom and Aaron. As soon as the older two got on the school bus, Alex was ready to leave for school too. It was hard to wait 2 more hours before we could take him to school.
Aaron was definitely sad to see Alex leave--he kept pointing back at the school as we drove away--as if to say--go back, we left Alex there!
When I picked Alex up after school he was almost jumping with excitement. The first thing he said to me was "do I get in my swimsuit now?" I told him that we were just going home. He looked at me and said "But mom--they said it was time for car pool!" He was very disappointed to find out that carpool, didn't involve swimming.
He said the best thing about school is the sandbox at the playground. He said there weren't any nice kids in his class, but no one was mean. He also said that he loved everything in his lunch. I asked if they did any schoolwork and he said no--they just did fun things. I asked if he wanted to go back tomorrow and he said yes.

He looks so grown up. When did he get to be so big?
