Saturday I picked up my sister Jennifer from the airport. The kids are always thrilled to see Jennifer. I'm not sure why, it isn't like she plays with them, and does all the crazy things they want to do.....oh wait, she does--we don't! We stopped by to visit my Grandma Olsen (her 80th birthday party was the impetus for the whole trip) then headed over to brick oven for lunch.
I love Brick Oven--it reminds me of the time we were in law school at BYU....I guess it could also remind me of the time I was an undergrad, but at that time I was too poor to spend more than about $2 per meal so Brick oven didn't really happen for me! I love their pizza and even more than their pizza, I love their homemade root beer.
This time we were going to meet two really good friends and their families.
KayLynn and I have been friends since 9th grade. From 9-12th grades KayLynn, Jana, Cami and I were inseparable. The four of us had so much fun together and we have stayed in contact all these years, despite all the distance that separates us. It wasn't convenient for KayLynn to come at all, and I appreciate all she did to make it--it was fun to meet her two youngest for the first time.
Susan was my first roommate outside of college. We spent so much time together and had so much fun. Susan left Georgia to buy a tailor shop in Provo, but she flew back for my wedding and we saw each other while Matt was at law school. Susan brought her husband and 3 kids--none of whom I have ever met.
It was a large group--15 people, but we had a great lunch and it was so much fun to catch up.
Afterwards we dropped Jennifer off at my Aunt's house (where she was staying) and then met up with everyone (my family had all flown in that day) for dinner at my Grandma's house.....let me just say, that Grandma's cooking is just as amazing as it always has been--few people can cook like she does even taking away the wheelchair and being 80!
I didn't take pictures of anything...not sure why. Between lunch and dinner we drove up to our favorite park in the canyon--South Fork. When we lived here we came up to this park all the time. Here are a few pictures of Caroline and Aaron at the park.
