Caroline started attending Georgia Cyber Academy in January. It is a combination of home school and public school. It is a public charter school that you attend from home. She has online lessons to take--Math, Social Studies, Science, Spanish, Literature, and Composition. She also has online classes (which she loves). The teachers can ask questions of individual students, kids can raise their hand or enter questions in the chat section, they can do problems on the whiteboard (on screen and everyone can see it when they are finished) or give responses to let the teacher know if they understand or are confused (smiley and confused faces next to their name). Because she is in middle school most of her work is online. There are times I help her (she doesn't like math so often I sit with her to help her with math--but no more than I would normally do with her homework). Occasionally she will have a science experiment or a written exam that I have to grade, but she is really self-motivated and it has worked out well.
One of the benefits is that she has more time at home and on her breaks she likes to play with Aaron and Roxie. They both LOVE her being home (and I do too)!
