Kids say the funniest things....

The boys keep me laughing with everything they come up with.  Here are some of the best ones from the last few months:

Carter:

Carter might have trouble finding a job regardless of what the economy does--he just told me he wants to be a blacksmith when he grows up.

Alex told me there was a new boy in his class today. I asked Alex where the boy moved from and Carter said "Mom, a man's past is his own business"

The kids were asking Matt and I how to say different things in Spanish. Carter asked how to say "Baby, you light up my world". Matt said that idiom wasn't in his missionary vocabulary and I told Carter I didn't want him to say it in any language.

What Carter put on the Thankful Tree at school:  "I am thankful for nice hair gel"

Carter told me that on his list for Santa he put a X-wing Starfighter. He told me that he didn't put Lego by it because "maybe Santa will bring me a real one, and if not he can bring the Lego one"

Alex:

Matt is taking the older kids on a backpacking trip tomorrow. They were discussing food to bring and Alex said "Please....just tell me we can hunt Turkeys!"

Caroline: Boys--I'm making this for dad--don't tell him because it is a surprise.
Alex: And don't tell Mom either!
Caroline: Mom can know--it isn't for her.
Alex: Yeah--but you know wives.....

As we were leaving the grocery store today Alex read the sign above the door "Thank you for shopping Publix." He thought a minute and said "Shouldn't it be ...shopping at Publix? Maybe they used up all their As and Ts on other signs"

Alex was talking about where stores get food and he said "when hunters kill animals...good hunters, not the hunter's that sell things on the black market..." I asked him how he knows about the black market. He said they learned about it at school and they did a black market project, but it had to dry so they won't bring it home until after break.

Aaron:

When we told Aaron that Matt was leaving for Finland today Aaron asked "Is it the candy Finland?" He was fine with Matt going if he would get the candy he loves at the end!

Aaron's preschool class talked about hibernating and they made a list of what they would need to hibernate. Aaron's list:
Bat (the animal), Light, Pillow, Stuffed Animal, Blanket, Snacks

Had fun running with Caroline in her first 5K--the boys ran the kids fun run. Best part of the whole race was Aaron running in the 6 and under kids race--every time he would pass someone he would yell "Ha Ha Sucker!!"

Today I told Aaron if we didn't get lunch soon I would turn into a pumpkin. Aaron asked me if I would have pumpkin seeds.
