Gingerbread Houses

OK...actually they are graham cracker houses, but they were just as fun to decorate!

I've wanted to do this with the kids for years, but I've always been too busy. One advantage of having to stay home all the time is that I have lots of time to do things with the kids!
I made the houses last night and after dinner the kids decorated them. It was so much fun--Alex would put something on the house that he and daddy decorated. After it was placed on the house he would yell "Ta-Da!"--each and every time, it was great. Carter and Caroline had a blast decorating their houses and making items to go on them.

Caroline with her house
Caroline won the award for the most realistic Christmas...
She had Santa and his marshmallow reindeer on the roof and a great licorice fence.
Carter with his house
Carter won "Best Lawn Display"...
He has a bench, a cannon, and a snowman in his yard.
Alex with the house he and Daddy decorated
Alex won "most decorated house"...
We loved the gumdrop snowman, the grass, and lots of extra decorations put on by Alex.
