Today I took Aaron to the Doctor for the first time. Alex came with us. With other kids I have always been able to ask them how the baby is doing so I can see that everything is ok even when I am driving.
With that in mind, I adjusted the sunshade on Aaron's carseat so that Alex could see Aaron's face. As we were driving I asked Alex about Aaron--this is how it went....
Me: Alex, is Aaron happy?
Alex: No.
Me: Is Aaron crying?
Alex: No.
Me: What is Aaron doing?
Alex: He has a hat.
Me: Great. Thanks.
Later I try again....
Me: Alex, is Aaron sleeping?
Alex: No.
Me: Are his eyes open?
Alex: Yes--his eyes are open.
We come to a red light and I check--Aaron is sleeping.
Me: Alex--Aaron's eyes are closed--he is sleeping.
Alex: Mmm hmm.....baby Aaron sleeping.
Me: You said he was awake.
Alex: Yes! Aaron is awake!

Next time, put Aaron in a Mickey Mouse costume - I bet Alex will track his every move!!
Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for you and Matt! What a beautiful baby boy. I can't wait to see him when I come visit ;)
