We had a birthday party last week for Alex and three of his cousins who all have close birthdays.
Jack & Aidan were born on May 1st and were turning 4 years old.

Alex on May 22nd and Grant was born May 19th. They were turning 3 years old.

The party was originally planned to be held at Stone Mountain, but the weather predicted rain for most of the day so we decided to play it safe and hold the party at our house (good decision as it poured rain the entire day).
We had a huge crowd--relatives from 3 families and a few families of friends. All in all we counted around 50 people.
We had a big dinner of ham and turkey sandwiches, fruit, vegetables and more salads than you could hope to eat. There was, of course, plenty of birthday cake to go around!
Alex had requested a Bumblebee transformer cake....it turned out pretty good!

Although, most of the little boys were disappointed that (unlike the actual transformer), pushing the red button did NOT transform Bumblebee from car to robot mode
We ended up cutting that part of the cake and throwing it away--no one really wanted to eat the button after it had been pushed by a bunch of little hands. After cake we had a couple of pinatas. There were a lot of kids vying for some of the candy.

I love this next picture because, if you look closely, you can see Jack huddled down on the floor under the falling candy. Shanna was shaking the pinata to get all the candy out and it was pelting poor Jack (you can see he has his hands over his head trying to protect himself). I also like William's method of bypassing the floor and trying to catch the candy before it hit the ground.

Aaron and Ellie skipped the pinata in favor of playing with toys

Alex was thrilled that Christian, his "best friend in the whole world", was able to come to the party

Here are a few other pictures from the party--it was so hard to narrow it down.

And just for old time sake....a goofy picture of my dad (it used to be you couldn't take 10 pictures of our family without getting at least one of my dad making a silly face)-- we love you grandpa!
