I normally don't believe in "spring cleaning." Really--why should I spend time inside cleaning when spring is here and I want to go outside?? Besides, it is hard enough for me to do regular cleaning, let alone do extra cleaning. This year, however, I have been on a cleaning streak. I first cleaned our garage. When we moved in our movers got tired at the end and just put things in the garage...where they have sat for the last 2 years. I finally decided to clean it out--it looks so much better now, and it only took me a couple of hours.
I hired someone to come and fix a few things around the house. He hung bike hoists in the garage so most of our bikes are now on the ceiling which gives us more space in the garage. He also replaced the light fixtures in our closet--they haven't worked for over a year. He also was going to fix our entry chandelier--but we discovered it was broken and needed to be replaced, so we bought a new one and he switched them out.
But it doesn't stop there.....I cleaned out the closet in the guest room. This closet was pretty scary--it started out organized when we moved in, but over time it developed into a closet that was actually dangerous (a bed frame that was taken apart and leaning near the door to the closet) and if you could get the door open, the light was burned out, and if you could see, it was so messy that you couldn't find whatever it was you wanted.
It took me about 45 min to get everything out of the closet

But wait...I'm still not done. I sanded down some spakeling in the master bathroom--been there for a year or so and found the paint in the garage and touched up the paint. I'm hoping to re-hang the towel bar in our bathroom too (it was ripped out of the wall a long time ago).
It feels good to accomplish so much--but I'm ready for summer so I can quit all the spring cleaning!
