Memorial Day at Lake Lanier

Memorial Day we were invited to spend the day with some friends at their house on Lake Lanier.  There were a lot of people--maybe 10 families or so and we had a great time.  The only downside was that Caroline still had her cast on, so she was limited in what she could do.

We brought up our kayaks and canoe and everyone had a great time in them.
We have a "kids kayak" that Caroline loves--it is the perfect size for older kids and they like being able to have their own kayak that they can use.
This was typical of anytime someone was in the canoe--kids swarming trying to get on and have a ride--often they would just grab on the side
Even Aaron took a turn in the kids kayak (ok--really I was about 2 inches away just outside the picture, and the water was shallow enough for me to walk out in, but he was really happy to be in the boat by himself)
There was a great beach area for the kids to play in--you can see Caroline's contraption of plastic bags and fabric to keep her cast dry.
Not my favorite picture, but the kids loved to sit out here and play in the water--it was great for Aaron and the little kids.
I love this picture of Aaron--I see this expression on his face all the time--it means "the game is starting--get ready to chase me!"
With that many people, you need a lot of ice cream!
Once it started getting dark we all gathered for fireworks--it was amazing with the shadows of the lake behind the fireworks.
