Matt and the kids found an unexpected surprise on the side of our yard one Saturday morning. This baby deer was hiding in our bushes. To give you perspective, the bushes it is hiding in are no more than a couple of feet off the ground--I came home from errands and it was still there--so tiny and so scared. Our neighbors had called animal control and they were told the mother was in the neighborhood looking for it (how they knew that I have no idea, so don't ask)...but a couple of hours later it was gone.
One thing I don't know that I will ever get used to is the type of animals you see in your yard in Georgia. We see rabbits and turtles on a regular basis and deer all the time. A few weeks ago I was taking a walk with the kids around the neighborhood and a huge buck ran out of one back yard, crossed the street and ran through another yard....really, it is amazing. (Although, when those same rabbits and deer eat the food out of our garden, it doesn't seem quite as amazing!).
The flowers and mushroom pictures are just some neat pictures that Matt took the same day that the deer came around, I love the nature pictures that Matt takes.
