Tubing down the Chattahoochee

Tubing in Helen wasn't on our summer bucket list, but when some friends invited us to go we jumped at the chance.  I admit, I was a little nervous about tubing with the kids without Matt, but I had Aaron on my tube and Alex's tube was linked with mine (and later we added Carter as well).  It was easier than I thought--the water was higher than when we went 4 years ago and everyone had a lot of fun.  We stopped at one spot and the kids jumped off some rocks and swam around a bit.  Shortly after we did that Aaron got sleepy and laid on his stomach and fell asleep.  He would have slept the whole way, but anytime I had to move to get the tubes off of rocks he woke up so it was more of just dozing on and off.

Right towards the end they had someone taking pictures.  I thought the pictures would be pricy--but they would put all the pictures you wanted on a cd for only $10 so the three families split the cost and got some fun pictures.
We went with the Colemans
The Shanklins came--this is Carter's friend Daylen

I like Carter's poses
Emma Shanklin and Caroline went down most of the river together.
It was really fun.  Afterwards we walked around Helen for a little and looked at the shops--and I remembered why it has been 6 years since I have walked around the shops in Helen.  On the way home we stopped at Dairy Queen and everyone got a blizzard.  It was a fun day and I won't hesitate to do it again!
