Vivian Park/Provo Canyon Hike

After the funeral we all needed some fresh air--to get away from the sadness of the funeral and allow the kids to work off some of their energy!  We picked up Alyssa from her dorm and brought her along so we could spend a little time with her as she was working and in class the rest of the time we were there.

We wanted to hike the Y, but there wasn't enough time (and the little kids were doubtful to make it) so we decided on Vivian Park--a favorite of Grandma Olsen's and a place that we have spent a lot of time over the years (Grandma's dad had a cabin in Vivian park for many years).  There was a lot of snow and the kids were thrilled--Carter had a huge snowball that he carried for a long time.
At one point the snow had covered up the trail--a little tricky to walk on the slope of snow without falling into the stream at the end, but the kids were so excited to see an avalanche!

After we finished all 15 (plus 2 babies) of us headed over to Brick Oven for some all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar (and famous Brick Oven rootbeer)!   After stuffing ourselves, we dropped Alyssa off and headed back to the hotel and went to bed--those 4am mornings make for an early bedtime!
