Back to the real world

It is always good and bad to come home after vacation--you have so much fun and love spending time as a family, but it is always so nice to sleep in your own bed and have more than 2 pairs of shoes and 4 outfits to choose from!

Our trip to Disney world was fabulous and we had a wonderful time! I have hundreds of pictures to post (but, if you are lucky, I will just pick the best to actually post!).

We had 3 rules before we left:

1. You must always smile the entire trip
2. You can be mad, sad, or grumpy, but you have to smile while you feel that way
3. If you are found not to be smiling, others in the family are free to find ways to make you smile (usually involving tickling)

Rule #1 wasn't always followed, but usually the person breaking the rule was quickly reminded of the rules and #3 was always obeyed shortly thereafter!


Some of my favorites from the trip:

• Caroline and Carter running up and down any staircase they came to (instead of using the escalators) so they could "earn extra dessert"--Grandma started it and it had a big impact (they would actually complain if there was only an escalator and would walk in place as they stood there).
• Seeing Alex be so excited about anything Mickey Mouse (he loves the mickey mouse clubhouse show). As you can imagine, in WDW there is always something that has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, or Goofy on it, and he was excited each and every time!
• Discovering that while Caroline loved Rockin Rollercoaster and Space Mountain, the animatronics in shows like "the Tiki Room" scared her.
• Seeing Carter stand up at the end of the Buzz Lightyear ride and show "Buzz" his shirt that had buzz on it. He did this every time we rode that ride (and believe me, we rode it a lot!)
• Most of all, just spending all day, every day, having fun, and being together!
