Disney World--Day 1

Our flight was scheduled to leave at noon. I always like to allow plenty of time, despite Matt's protests that we didn’t need to leave so early, and we arrived at the gate at 10:40am—plenty early. Only to discover that our flight was delayed an hour. So we tried to keep entertained for two hours and ate an early lunch before finally boarding the plane at 1pm. We started towards the runway and then stopped for a while. At which point, the pilot came over the intercom and said that the winds had shifted and they had to change the directions that the planes took off. Which meant that instead of being #1 in line we were now #30 in line!! Our 1 hour flight finally landed at 3pm.

We arrived at the Wilderness Lodge at 4pm—about 15 min after Shanna and Kydon and their family, who drove there. We checked in together and were thrilled to find out that our rooms were across the hall from each other, and they had spots for each of us to be the flag family.

1900 Park Faire
We left at 5:30 so we had plenty of time to take the slow way to the Grand Floridian. We first took the boat to magic kingdom then were going to take the boat from magic kingdom to the grand floridian and then walked to 1900PF, but it was pouring rain when we got to magic kingdom so we took the monorail instead. My parents were also driving and arrived just in time to park and meet us for dinner.

Dinner was so much fun. We all loved Drizella—she talked with us for about 5-6 minutes about “Cindersmella”. Lady Tremaine told us that she had Cinderella do the work because she was always singing “Who am I to deny her something she was so happy doing that she would sing about it?” The food was ok, but the kids had fun and it was a fun way to start out our trip.

Almost everyone at the table
