Disney World Day 2 (Epcot)

We arrive at Epcot by 8:15 for an 9am opening. My parents still had to buy tickets so the kids and I waited in line while DH helped my parents find us after buying tickets. We were about 4 back in line at the turnstiles. They let us in and we were first at the rope waiting for Soarin. Waiting at the line was great, we saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale.

Matt, Caroline, Carter, Grandma and Grandpa ride soarin. Alex and I wait while they ride and then we go to see Nemo and Turtle Talk with Crush. The kids sit up front for Turtle Talk with Crush and both of them get called on for a question--Carter asks if he ever has grass on his back? To which Crush replies no and explains that they do get their green color from the grass they eat--and asks Carter what his favorite food is (blueberries) then asks if he turns blue after eating them. Caroline gets the last question and asks if he snores. He replies that he doesn't make a sound while sleeping to avoid predators--asks Caroline if she snores and she says Yes?????. He replies that it must be nice to be at the top of the food chain.

We leave Turtle talk and circle around to ride Nemo. After nemo we take a few minutes for pictures with Bruce

Akershus

We loved the food here. Sleeping Beauty comes first and I pick up Alex and we all stand there for a picture.

As the picture is being taken I feel something hit my shoe. I try not to think until after Aurora gives Alex a big kiss on the cheek and leaves. I look down, and sure enough, Alex had a blowout. It has been forever since that happened so of course I have no extra clothes for him. I take him to the bathroom to clean up and change his diaper (my sincerest apologies to the 6 people that came in during that time). His shorts and onsie were ruined, luckily his shirt was saved so he didn't have to be totally naked.

We finish the food and pictures (Arial saw us leave so she came back after we were back)--Carter wanted nothing to do with any princesses.

Originally we had planned to take a break after lunch, but the weather predicted severe thunderstorms at 8pm so we decided to stay until we were tired then head back to the resort for the evening. It rained off and on the whole day, but it didn't really affect us.

After leaving Akershus we need to find clothes for Alex. Grandma offers to take Carter and Alex to find some clothes then meet us at the playground after we ride test track.

We liked Test Track, but Caroline was a little scared, she meet another little girl in line and they bonded and as we boarded they promised to find each other afterwards "if we survive". The preshow was a little too real for Caroline and she worried the whole ride (despite my explanations) that the people controlling the tests would mess up and we would crash. Even later in the week she talked about testing the cars that they "sold" in the gift shop...oh well.

We meet up with Grandma and the boys and find they were unsuccessful to find a pair of shorts for a baby--or pants. She had looked through a good sized gift shop and came up with a onsie--so luckily he is young enough to get away with just wearing a onsie for the rest of the day. As a side note, the remainder of our vacation I looked to find pants/shorts for kids and while I did find shorts for adults, the closest I could find for kids were pajamas.....really, you would think that somewhere in wdw they would sell a pair of shorts in a child's size.

We then went and road Soarin again, this time Matt took Alex on Living with the Land while I rode--it was amazing--we all loved it. It started raining pretty hard then so we ducked into innoventions for a while--lots of fun and Matt got to ride the segway which he had wanted to do. Alex was facinated by the potato beetles and he would have stayed there all day I think.

The rain abated for a while and the kids were exhausted and it was about 4/5pm so we decided to leave for the resort.

We rode the monorail to TTC then switched to the resort monorail and rode to the Contemorary Resort then took the boat from there to the Wilderness Lodge (not the fastest, but the kids loved riding trains and boats). While we were waiting on the boat, we saw a beautiful rainbow--rare in that you could see both ends:

The rest of the night we relaxed, watched the huge thunderstorms, and ate dinner from Roaring forks in our room--it was nice and relaxing and we all went to sleep early.

Tommorrow: a break!
