Drive-In Movie

We had a drive-in movie activity at church on Saturday. They provided the movie (the old Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and Candy & Popcorn, and (in honor of the movie) a chocolate fountain.

Everyone that came provided their own cars. Luckily for my kids Matt decided to take charge of making the cars and came up with these cars for the kids:

Alex: A little zebra-mobile (there are black stripes on the side that I didn't get in the picture)

Carter had a coupe (with an area perfect for keeping lots of candy and popcorn)

Caroline had a stylin convertible--with real working top!

Here are some pictures of our friend's kids and their cars:

A group shot taken during the movie....

After the movie they gave out large candy bars for cars and a trivia contest (we won that thanks to matt's phone having an internet connection!). The grand prize was given out by drawing a golden ticket (of course)--it was a 5lb bar of Hershey's chocolate! Luckily we didn't win that!

It was so much fun--and even though it got over at a fairly decent time (8pm)--the next morning, however, our sunbeam primary class (3 and 4 year olds) was definitely showing the effects of a lot of candy and not enough sleep!

I am so sorry I missed it! (grr...surgery means you miss out on fun activities like this.) The cars are so creative! You should be proud.
