At many of our family dinners (or breakfasts) we let the kids eat first--they are gone in a few minutes and then the adults sit down to eat. It works out surprisingly well.
Most of the kids love Mitzi. She is so great with all the trouble the kids give her. I love this picture of Ellie with her.
After breakfast, we all headed up to Cartersville (about 1.25 hours away) and went to the Tellus Museum.
They have a huge dinosaur skeleton in the lobby--Alex was incredibly impressed!
The museum has a mix of things to do. There was a planetarium show--Matt took Caroline and Carter to that (along with most of the adults and older kids). There was a dinosaur room with all kinds of dinosaur fossils. There was one fossil you could touch--then when you lifted the description next to it you found out it was dinosaur poop....Alex LOVED that.
We then went to the hands-on area of the museum. The others joined us there when the show was over.
After playing we mined for gems and then searched for fossils
You could get as many of the little gems as you wanted, and each person was allowed one fossil.
The museum also had a huge area filled with spacecraft.
Aaron's favorite was the train they had in the vehicle area.
walking back to the car--it was a long walk and FREEZING cold!
I love this picture of Caroline

Melinda, those are great pictures! I have loved seeing your posts about the things we all did over Christmas break so I could relive it all over again. We miss you guys!
Glad you had such a good time. I can't wait to take Roman there again now that he is a little older to enjoy it.
