To try to counteract all the Georgia Tech brainwashing that Matt had done one the kids, we spent the day at BYU. We got to campus on Tuesday at 11am. Which meant nothing to me until I remembered that campus completely shuts down every Tuesday from 11-12 for the weekly devotional. I was a little frustrated until Matt reminded me that the Law School did not shut down (the law school is its own little world on the BYU campus). So we headed over to the law school.
We were lucky to meet up with one of the deans of the law school, that we both loved while we were here. Matt and I actually had him and his wife over for dinner one night and Matt took him on a number of trips through Provo Canyon in my BMW Z3. It was fun to talk with him and catch up.
After the time had passed for campus to reopen, we headed over to the bookstore and outfitted the kids in the requisite t-shirts. Aaron still wouldn't say BYU, he would start B...Y...GA TECH! After spending way too much time at the bookstore, we headed over to the Creamery on 9th (or Kent's as I still call it).
I think the kids might have been swayed a bit towards BYU by the fact that BYU makes ice cream (and great ice cream at that)...too bad GA Tech doesn't make ice cream!
After the creamery we stopped at Cougar Stadium (I know it is Lavell Edwards Stadium, but I can still call it Cougar Stadium) for some pictures with the cougar. Luckily there was a nice family there and we traded photography services so each of us got a family picture. Then it was time for the fun pictures.
