The only thing that caused problems is that people actually wanted to look at, or ask Alex about, or (gasp!) touch Alex's Big Bumblebee. Any of the above actions would result in Alex screaming and running away--with Big Bee tucked firmly in his arms. Apparently Ellie was the only person not deemed a threat (how much of a threat can you be at 7 months old?) and she was allowed to see, and even hold bumblebee...it was a Christmas miracle!

Christmas Afternoon
We went to visit my family in the afternoon. Russ and Catherine and family were visiting her family in Colorado, so we missed them, but the rest of us had a great time. We had a great dinner and had fun playing with cousins and toys, and destroying Grandma's house.

There is more to the Christmas miracle. I believe I saw Ellie with Big Bee's big toe in her mouth. It was hard to see exactly what was happening. I was sitting perfectly still with Ellie on my lap, trying not to disrupt the delicate exchange that was unfolding before my eyes! I knew Alex loved Ellie, but I never knew how much!!
so funny that you mentioned this--at dinner I was telling Matt about blogging about Ellie holding bumblebee and Alex said "Ellie eat big bee!" I asked if Ellie had tried to eat Big Bee and he said "yes, silly baby"
