Caroline's Birthday and Baptism

Caroline turned 8 years old on June 6th! What better way to celebrate your eighth birthday than to get baptized? And what makes a baptism even better than to be baptized with your best friend?

Caroline had all of these. She and her best friend Kaely were baptized on June 6, 2009.
If you would like to know more about baptism in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, please look here.

The baptism was wonderful. Caroline and Kaely sang a duet "I Feel My Savior's Love". It was beautiful. After their song Kaely's brother, Skyler, gave a talk on Baptism. Following Skyler's talk, Kaely was baptized by her dad and then Caroline was baptized by her dad.

Following their baptisms the girls listened to a talk on the Holy Ghost given by Caroline's Grandma Olsen. Kaely and Caroline were then confirmed members of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Following their confirmations, the girls were welcomed by Bishop Wuergler and by the primary president Anderea MacDonald.

It was a beautiful baptism and I was in tears several times. It was so nice to have our family and friends there.

Afterwards we had refreshments--cheesecakes (made by Matt), cheese and crackers, lemonade, and fruit. It was wonderful.

After everything was finished we had our family over for a birthday lunch for Caroline. Caroline had requested "a cookie cake with no frosting"...so that is what she got. She wanted an 8 candle, but I had forgotten to buy one so she made her own 8 in the cookie.
After lunch Caroline went swimming with Alyssa, Lexie, Ellin and Grandpa Urbanawiz and then came home and got ready for the daddy-daughter dance at the church.

Here are a couple of pictures of Caroline in her baptism dress--this is also the dress she wore to the dance (Matt said she loved dancing in the dress because it was great for twirling!)
