Stone Mountain

Our passes to Stone Mountain were expiring the end of May and we still had a couple of things that we hadn't done. We had tried 3 Saturdays in May to go to Stone Mountain and all three were completely rained out. We finally had a Saturday that was decent (still rainy, but not completely rained out).

Our first stop was to "Ride the Ducks"--mostly because it was still raining and the duck boats were covered. The kids were thrilled to be able to ride the duck--it can go on roads or on water.

Everyone got a duck whistle thing and a life jacket.
Aaron's life jacket was a little big.
The kids also got to take turns driving the duck on the lake--
Unfortunately Alex was asleep for all of the boat portion of this ride.
After riding the ducks it was time for the Sky Hike. Caroline had wanted to go on this for almost an entire year---but we never had an adult to go with her and one to watch all the other kids (neither Shanna nor I wanted to watch 5 kids by ourselves at Stone Mountain).

While Caroline and Matt were doing the Sky Hike, Carter and Alex did a mini version--same types of activities, but much closer to the ground. Alex had a hard time his first time through, but after that he did the entire course with little to no help.

The favorite was the zip line--the boys kept getting back in line for this part over and over --maybe 4-5 times for each time they did the entire course.
After Caroline was done she had to try the mini version as well.

After the ropes course we went to the Great Barn--basically a big barn with all kinds of activities involving nerf type balls--collecting them, shooting them, putting them in various air chambers, slides, etc. That was good timing because it poured the entire time we were in there. After we were done we decided to go home.

Earlier in the day while we were waiting.

It was a fun day and the rain was perfect because it held off the rest of the crowds and didn't really bother us too much!

We were thinking about going today, but Mischa got sick. I think Caleb would love the ropes course and the Barn is a HUGE hit with the kids.

I didn't know that was there at Stone Mountain. Looks like lots of fun.
