About this time every year, we get deluged with toy magazines. The kids love to go through all the toys and tell us all the things they want (basically everything in the magazine). I actually like to go through the magazines as well--sometimes they give me good ideas on gifts (that I can usually get somewhere else or make myself).Yesterday I was going through one of these magazines and found two toys that I thought would be absolutely perfect....I can't believe no one has come out with these before.
The first toy is:
Food Chain FriendsThese goofy, graduated-size creatures "feed" on each other but don’t worry, they’re friends and they’re happy! Each delightful, supersoft plush toy fits inside the next one’s mouth, providing a cheerful hands-on demo of the workings of the food chain. Food Chain Friends Nesting Plush Collection includes 5 self-storing toys, each with its own quirky story. 2"-18". Family Fun Toy of the Year Award. Ages 3+.
Wow. I'm so glad that the animals are all friends and they're happy! I am all for nesting toys and we even have a frog stuffed animal with a dragon fly that goes in his mouth--but teaching the kids about the food chain with one animal eating the other isn't appealing to me (and frankly--I would rather they not be "friends" if they are going to eat each other!)
The second toy is:
Gassy GusEwww! There's nothing Gassy Gus won't eat, from baked beans to broccoli. Feed him a food card, pump his head and his stomach swells...but watch out-the bigger his belly gets, the more chance Gus will blast gas, and that's a penalty! The first to feed him all the food cards without an "explosion," wins! Includes a back-up belly (balloon). For 2-4 players. Ages 5+.
This one just makes me wonder what they were thinking.... really--that sounds like a game the whole family can enjoy together-- "come on kids--lets see who can feed the most food without an "explosion of gas"--even if he doesn't fart at least he will get fat!" or "My kids don't talk about gas and farting nearly as much as I would like them to--maybe this game will help them to learn about gas so they can bring it more often in every day conversation."
So if you are still trying to decide on the perfect gift for that special someone, I can guarantee you that if you give one of these it will not be duplicated!

SO tempting to get the Gas game for Matt. Too funny! If we wouldn't have to play that with the kids it would be on the list for sure!!
Oh, yeah- PERFECT!! I think you should try *making* gassy gus! That would be pretty funny!
seriously--what we need is to encourage more of the "fart" talk!
Interesting toys, must be a man who invented them. When I was a child, I loved looking through the Sears Christmas catalog and could do it for hours.
Ok I can take a hint, I'll order it for you for christmas.
