We love the Olsen family Christmas party. We have a fun white-elephant gift exchange, eat lots of good food (can I say I LOVE clam chowder?) and have a special visitor for the kids--but I really love the nativity that grandma is brave enough to attempt every year.
All of the kids have a part--and trying to costume, organize, and hand out parts is hard enough when you have 11 kids with the oldest being 8 and the youngest 2 months....let alone put on a nativity production that is nice to watch. But there is something special about the nativity that no matter how chaotic it is or how many people mess up their parts--it still is beautiful.
The beginning: Grandpa is the narrator, Caroline and Tyler and Carter and Abigail warmed up the audience with a few jokes....

Carter was Joseph and Abigail was Mary--Abigail was thrilled with her role, Carter not so much...

Isn't Ellie the cutest baby angel you have ever seen?

Alex was a wise man

If you want to see the whole thing I have a shortened version here--because of file size, I have trimmed off the jokes at the beginning so we could see the nativity...like I said, there is something about the nativity that works despite the actors :)
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Melinda, thanks for posting those videos. They warm my heart, and make the effort worthwhile!
I wish we had enough people in our family to do the nativity. Mabye when I have grandchildren.
