We spent Thanksgiving with Matt's family in Augusta. We drove down late Tuesday night and stayed until Saturday.
It was great timing as we got to visit David and Aubree in the hospital with their new baby Bella.

The above picture was only obtained after much
threatening bribing persuasion. What Alex and Aaron really did most of the time we were there was this:

Wednesday night we went to a lights display. This is our second time going and it is fun. You take a hay ride through the light display then come back and you can see Santa and get warm around a huge fire.
This gingerbread house was lit up, but the kids could play in it too--Carter and Alex spent a long time defending the poor gingerbread house from countless armies intent on destruction.

Since you can't really get good pictures of lights from a bumpy hay ride, Matt went back and walked through some of the areas and took some pictures of the lights.
Thanksgiving day I helped the kids make some little turkeys. Last year we did our usual gumdrop turkeys and I saw a friend post about making these and decided that they looked much nicer. If you want to see instructions, you can look on my
recipe blog.

Friday we went on a short hike. There are lots of great areas for hiking near them--we go hiking just about every time we go down, and I don't think we have ever gone to the same place more than once.

We had such a wonderful time. It is nice and relaxing to get away from everything and the kids have so much fun with Alyssa and Lexie and all the cousins--we barely see them!

I like that idea of putting the turkey on top of another Oreo to keep it stable.
