The end of April I took the kids out of school a couple hours early and we headed out to a pick-your-own strawberry farm. The strawberries were incredible. You hardly had to move to get all the strawberries you wanted. We were there about 45 min and picked 6 gallons of strawberries--Caroline picked one, Carter and Alex combined for a second and I picked the rest. I really have never seen such beautiful strawberries. We had so much fun that we went back a month later with Lisa and Ellie--it was not nearly the same--strawberries were tiny, hard to find, and not nearly as good. We were there an hour and between me and all the kids combined I got one gallon. Luckily I have a ton of freezer jam, frozen sliced strawberries, and strawberry puree to last me a while. I think we will make this an annual tradition.
