Alex likes to choose his own clothes--and has for a long time. My rule is that on days we are going out he has to match. Regularly I will tell him that his outfit doesn't match and he either needs a new shirt or new pants/shorts. Somehow it came about that Sunday (AFTER church) he can wear whatever he wants and it doesn't have to match. Even if we go somewhere--usually just Grandma's house, he can still wear his non-matching clothes. Alex loves "Sunday: Non-Matching Day" so much that he makes sure that whatever he wears absolutely does not match. He loves it so much that I will often tell him that his clothes don't match--just to hear him get excited and tell me that he doesn't have to match because it is "Sunday: Non-matching Day!!!"
