Happy Birthday Alex!

Alex is two years old today! He has had a rough start for such a little kid. He had only been home from the hospital about 12 hours when we were back in the ER doing x-rays of his GI system, found out he had reflux. He had his first set of ear tubes at 4 months old (the second youngest that the ENT had ever done--only being beat by about a week). His next set of tubes was at a year, and then again at 18 months (this time permanant tubes). He was hospitalized last June for dehydration, found to be lactose intolerant, and he has been to the doctor more times than I wish to count for sinus infections, ear infections and anything else you can think of (I told the nurses that soon we would just have our own exam room and a standing appointment).

But despite being sick, almost constantly, this little boy is so happy all the time! He loves to do whatever his big brother and sister are doing--there is no such thing as being too little in Alex's mind. He loves to play with his toy kitchen and cook dinner for everyone--and he is great at making space ship noises when he and Carter play legos

He LOVES Mickey Mouse and Goofy and the rest of the gang (Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Pluto). He loves rocking Caroline's baby's and giving them toys and blankets. He loves books and will cuddle up with you while you read him a story. Lately he is big into coloring--the teachers at the Y playcenter say that he is the best at art of all the kids they have (16 m to 3 years)--he loves it so much that he often does 2 of the same project because he is having so much fun.

What a sweet little boy--I'm glad the last two years are behind us, and can't wait to see him grow up (hopefully a little healthier)!
