The Last Week of School!!!

I know it seems unusual for a parent to be so excited about the last week of school, but I have been counting down to this week since March 1st! I remember March 1st because it is the day we moved. It also began my 12 week sentance of living in the car.

We decided when we moved to keep Caroline attending her current school. She had a fabulous teacher, and we thought it would be hard for her to change schools and make new friends the last 2 months of school. Carter also attends pre-kindergarten at a school that was about 30 seconds (with traffic) from our old house.

So with the move our driving schedule looked like this:
  • 7:00am Matt would leave, dropping Caroline off at school on his way to work
  • 9:00am (m/w/f) I would leave to take Carter to school
  • 9:45/10:00am Home from taking Carter (15 min drive, wait in the carpool lane, drive home)
  • 12:00 pm (Monday and Friday) leave to go get Carter from school
  • 12:45/1:00 pm (mon/fri) arrive home from getting Carter
  • 1:00pm (wednesdays) leve to get Carter from school
  • 2:00 leave to go get Caroline from school-- wednesdays I would usually drive around until 2:15 because alex would be taking his nap in the car and there would be no time to go home and come back
  • 2:45/3pm home from getting Carolline
I was also trying to fit in going to the Y every day for an hour (not too bad on tues/thurs but the rest of the days were horrible) and getting all my normal work done--which, didn't work too well most days.

Anyway, I am SO EXCITED that I only have 5 more days of driving back and forth to school, I know I am more excited about school being out than the kids!

hehe, the question is, how long will it last before you think that all that driving wasn't that bad, and could we please re-open school? :)

Well--I will be very happy this year is done, but I'm not saying I won't want next year to start early (after all Caroline will be taking the bus and carter will be going 5 days a week!)

I was pretty confused by the comment Caroline left on my blog. So much that I didn't even read your comment that said it was really you. I almost called you to ask about it, but then I did finally read yours and it all made sense.... :)

Oh my, with that crazy schedule I would be throwing a party for myself after school was over. You poor thing. You will love your free time in a week:-)
