At Ocee Elementary, the first graders always take a day in October to do some Pumpkin Math. The dad's come in and help the kids with the project--which includes estimating weight, number of lines around the pumpkin, number of seeds, etc. They then check their estimates and carve the pumpkin. Matt was out of town for Alex's pumpkin math day, luckily Grandpa was able to make it!
The group and the finished jack-o-lantern. Aaron was right in the middle of things--he is at the school so much doing things in the kids' classes, that I wonder if he will be bored by the time it is his turn! I also hadn't noticed until I saw this picture that Alex and my dad look a lot alike!
