Lately I've been telling him that we are going to have a baby at our house. I know he won't really understand until the baby actually gets here, but Caroline and Carter like talking to him about it, so we bring it up periodically.
Last week I told Alex that I had a baby in my tummy. Of course he immediately starts trying to find the baby--looking under my shirt, under my legs, behind me--determined to see that baby I was talking about.
Last night I was talking to Alex and he started talking about a baby and pointing to his tummy. I asked if I had a baby in my tummy and he said no--that he has a baby in his tummy :) So I asked him questions about his baby and here is what I came out with:
- Alex has a boy baby in his tummy
- His baby doesn't cry
- His baby likes to eat cookies
- His baby doesn't want to take naps
- His baby likes to play on swings

A baby that doesn't cry? Maybe he should give us tips on how to get that kind of baby in our tummy! Of course his baby doesn't take naps... He is so cute with Ellie. When I babysat him, he kept coming up to Ellie and piling toys all around her. When I would try to hold the toys, he would get very upset because the toys were for Ellie, not for me! And when I told him she was sleeping, he shhed everyone. He is so cute!
Boy, you are going to be busy this winter, with 2 babies on the way! ;)
I love how opportunistic kids are... any chance to get away with things!
