- I was 14 years old and about to start 9th grade
- I was attending North Layton Junior High School
- I took a computer class that was self paced--I finished about 2 months early so teachers would bring me in papers they needed typed and I would type them --and they would pay me $10 per paper (only did a few)
- My last year of playing the violin--I loved it, but I really wasn't that good--even after 4 years of orchestra and private lessons.
- I was working as a software engineer at a company that later went bankrupt.
- I was living with two girlfriends in a house in Atlanta (about 1/4 mile north of 285)
- I got my tonsils out--and it took me a month before I could eat normally again
- I just got my company car-- a 1999 BMW Z3 Roadster 3.8

- Matt and I went on our first date--to my company Christmas Party.
- We moved into our first house
- Carter was born and was an incredibly good baby--the kind that makes you want to have more babies!
- That pretty much consumed my year--looking for houses (with a 2 year old in tow), buying a house, packing all of our stuff, moving while 7 months pregnant--setting up our new house, having a baby....oh yeah, I remembered what else
- I potty trained Caroline...definitely a busy year!
- Our little boy Rees was stillborn at 21 weeks.
- I caught a deadly blood infection (the cause of #1), luckily I had great doctors and lots of priesthood blessings and recovered quicker than any of my doctors expected.
- We went on a fun vacation with Shanna and Jed--Matt's sister and BIL, and their family to the mountains of North Georgia--a week in a cabin at Fort Mountain State Park
- I found out I was pregnant with Alex!
- We had no idea we would even be thinking about moving--didn't even talk about it until the First of August!
- Caroline just finished Kindergarten--she seemed so much older than she had a year before
- Alex was hospitalized for 3 days for dehydration--having a 12 month old in the hospital was miserable--nothing for them to do (toys only hold them for so long), then nurses in every 4 hours--I would spend hours getting him to sleep then they would come in 2 hours later to take his vitals and I would have to spend the next 2 hours getting him to sleep again. I developed a real sympathy for parents who have chronically ill kids.
- We put our house on the market--and spent the next four months doing nothing but cleaning (or so it seemed)
So Far This Year...
- We bought a new house
- We sold our current house (got a contract the day we moved out of our old house)
- Went on a fabulous vacation to Disney World
- Alex had his 3rd set of tubes in and Carter had his tonsils out
- Found out we are having another baby in December!
Yesterday...
- We had family pictures taken! Hopefully I can post them soon.
- Lisa watched the kids while I had physical therapy for my shoulder (tendinitis)
- We went to Carter's t-ball practice, where we lost Caroline's ball in a little wooded area. I spent 20 minutes climbing around in bushes, vines, etc trying to find it. Found 4 other balls, but didn't find hers.
- Between the hours of 8:30am and 6:00 pm we spent 1 1/2 hours at home
Today...
- Need to get working on all my morning work that I have avoided for the last hour while typing this post
- Carter's friend is having a birthday party at a park and siblings are invited :)
- Matt is taking Caroline and Carter camping as a reward for accomplishing some goals they set.
- Recover from the camping mess
- Maybe go to stone mountain (depending on how the kids are doing)
Next Year... (last one, I promise)
- Hopefully have a super easy baby and find that the adjustment to four kids is easy!
- Carter and Caroline will both be at the same school next August!
