New Furniture

In March , we decided to get new bedroom furniture. Our previous furniture was purchased by me after I graduated from BYU. Twelve years and 6 moves (including 2 cross country) later, it was in pretty sorry shape. We had wanted to get a California King for a long time (Matt was tired of his feet always hanging off the end of the bed) so we found a bed we liked and bought it.

Turns out it was on backorder and wouldn't be available until June. That was fine, a couple of months didn't really matter. We did go ahead and paint the room (it was a peachy color that I hated), and I found bedding and sheets and curtains that I liked, but we never got around to ordering a mattress. So the night before our furniture is to be delivered (June 12th), we finally go out looking for a mattress. It takes a couple of days but we find what we like (luckily our bed is a platform bed so we just put the queen mattress on top in the meantime). Of course since it is a CA King it has to be ordered so they say to expect it the 26th of June.

Well, it came today!



It has nice storage drawers in the frame of the bed so we didn't get a dresser. Our plan was to get a nice table and a couple of chairs for the other side of the room (which I didn't show because right now there is a queen mattress set sitting there), but I think a baby crib might go there instead for a few months. I still need to decorate the room (find time for Shanna to go shopping with me), but I love how it looks so far!
