We left about noon on the first decent day of Spring Break (Wednesday). It was me and my 4 kids, Shanna and her 3 kids, and Abigail's friend from preschool and her mom and baby sister....so 3 adults 2 infants, and 7 more kids between 2-7....
We arrived to find out that everyone else had the exact same idea we did--finally it is nice enough to go outside....let's go to the zoo! And the parking lot was exactly that--a zoo. After searching for a parking space for about 30 minutes we finally found 2 spots on the street fairly close to each other.
It was fun at the zoo--Alex was amazed by the animals (I keep forgetting that he doesn't remember things he did last year, so everything seems new and exciting to him). Caroline was enthralled by the tigers (she is doing a report on them at school and was excited to have pictures). And the kids were relatively well behaved (except poor Jack who got lost for about 5 very scary minutes).
It was insanely crowded so we skipped a lot of things--but that is ok, because we bought season passes (something we were regretting about 4 minutes into the 5 minutes that Jack was lost). Hopefully next time we will not go the same time as everyone else in metro Atlanta and we can have a more calm experience.
We had tons of great pictures
Caroline had the corner on the great animal shots.
