Irony

Several of months ago (I think it might have been October) I was working outside when a guy stopped to ask me if I needed pine straw put out in my yard (well, I guess I should say he asked if I wanted him to do it--it was obvious my yard needed it).  I asked him how much he would charge and it was outrageous and I told him no.  He then lowered 3 more times with me saying no each time.  He finally left.

Since then he and another younger guy have stopped by every couple of weeks to ask me if I want them to put out my pine straw.  I keep telling them no, and one time I saw them coming and didn't answer the door--they just kept coming back until I finally answered and told them no.

Frankly they started to make me nervous and I was feeling a little stalked.  I did the pine bark myself, but I really hate pine straw and the pine bark made me sore for about a week--so I wasn't too anxious to start on the pine straw--but I was  a little creeped out by these two guys.

There was a guy doing pines straw for my neighbor in January and I called him and he was charging only slightly more per bail then the delivery companies would charge me (not including delivery).  We tried to work out a time, but everything fell through and I dropped it for a few weeks.

Saturday I finally decided to get it taken care of (so this guy would stop stalking me).  I called the guy and he said he couldn't do it that day, but his partner could and would I mind if he had his partner do it.  I said sure and they were going to show up in 30 minutes.

I answered the door and there, standing on my front porch, was this same guy that I was trying to avoid!  He and two teenagers with him, but it was him.  What are the chances???

I guess I don't have to worry about him coming back and offering to do my pine straw for a while!

I agree it is crazy how much they want for the job. We finally gave in and had our yard done about 2 months ago.
