Maybe I should be worried

The past couple of weeks I have been telling the kids to stop wasting water...I think my actual words are something like "Turn off the water...you know I have to pay for every drop of water that you use"...or something like that.

I think it has started to sink in.  I might be able to say that because the kids are using less water, remembering to turn it off when it isn't being used, or taking shorter showers...but that isn't how I know.

Today when Carter was taking a shower I told him to be quick about it and stop using so much water.  I go to sing Alex his song before bed and our conversation went something like this:

Alex:  Mom--is the man who checks the water meter allergic to dogs?
Me:  No
Alex:  Darn.  Is he allergic to anything?
Me:  No
Alex:  Have you taken a jar of peanut butter out there?  A lot of people are allergic to peanut butter.

I'm thinking that maybe I should switch from water conservation to the moral implications of intentionally causing Anaphylactic Shock.
