Because I am all about following the crowd...In honor of my 100th post, here are 100 things about me that you may or may not know.
- Before I quit to be a mom, I was a software engineer.
- The last company I worked for did vehicle registration and titling systems for state governments.
- If you live in Utah, I designed the receipts you get when you register your car. I also designed/programmed the system that issues handicapped plates/placards and personalized plates, among other things.
- I actually got to register my car in Utah (Matt's last year in law school) after the system went live and got a receipt that I designed :)
- Yes--I know that is really lame to be so happy about it.
- I also memorized the VIN of every car I ever owned while I worked there (to test the system you had to enter valid VINs--after a while you memorized them.)
- I always wanted to program computers--from the time I was 8.
- I used to type in programs from my dad's computer magazines (binary code) to make computer games.
- The best game I made was called Miami Ice.
- When I was in High School, I took a self-paced computer word processing class. I finished so early that other teachers would bring me in papers to type for them--and pay me $10 each!
- When I was in college I was a TA for a class I was enrolled in (a new programming language and not very many students knew it)--I was in charge of writing and grading the final.
- The professor told me I didn't have to take the final.
- I used to walk in my sleep.
- My sisters can tell lots of funny stories about me sleepwalking.
- The best one is when I fell off the top bunk and hit my eye on Jennifer's desk--Apparently I cried about it for over an hour--but I don't remember it at all, and didn't know I had done it until I had a very bad black eye the next morning.
- Sometimes sleepwalking is a good thing!
- I mostly stopped sleepwalking once I got married.
- I got glasses when I was in 5th grade
- I got contacts when I turned 16--I had to save up $300 for my first pair of contacts.
- My first job was at Chick Fil A
- Another job I had was at a bridal shop.
- I had to ride a bus to work at the bridal shop.
- Due to various things that happened, my mom informed that I didn't need to talk to people on the bus--it was ok to ignore people around me.
- The bridal shop wasn't in the most fabulous part of town.
- When I was at BYU I worked at the Cougareat for all 4 years of college.
- I was a cashier (the best job because you could wear regular clothes) for 3 of those years.
- My senior year of college I worked 3 jobs--TA, Cashier at the Cougareat, and assistant manager at my apartment complex.
- I didn't make much money--even with 3 jobs!
- I lived in the same apartment complex for all 4 years of college--the last 3 I lived in the same apartment (with different people--my roommates all kept getting married).
- I sold plasma one year for extra spending money.
- One time my vein broke as they returned the blood to my arm.
- My entire arm was black (from bruising) for about a month.
- I had to wear long sleeves for a long time.
- That was the last time I sold plasma.
- I started mowing the lawn as a chore when I was 7 years old.
- I loved mowing the lawn (still do)
- Before I could 'legally' work--I used to mow people's lawns.
- I charged $7 per lawn.
- It was better than the $1/hour I was making babysitting.
- I used to have a heart problem where my heart would start racing--it would get upwards of 300 beats per minute for anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours (normally lasting 3-4 hours).
- The first time it ever happened I was 11 and babysitting at a house where there was no phone--I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
- Most of my friends in High School just thought I was out of shape (they told me this later when they found out the actual diagnosis)
- One treatment for it is to go to the ER where they give you an IV drug that stops your heart for 6 seconds then restarts it--I had this done 4-5 times in a 1 year period.
- It feels really weird to have your heart stop when you are awake!
- I had surgery to correct it in August of 2006.
- I was awake for the surgery.
- The doctor made some initial incisions for the wires then did the rest of the surgery across the room on the computer.
- I had to lay perfectly still for 4 hours afterwards--then walked around the nurses station twice and was discharged.
- I've never had the problem since.
- I often have dreams where I know I am dreaming and will manipulate things I do because it is just a dream.
- Apparently this is a family thing as both of my sisters have mentioned the same thing!
- My mom comes from a family of 4 girls and 1 boy, my dad's family has 4 boys and 1 girl.
- I will have (when this baby arrives) 4 boys and 1 girl.
- My mom's sister married my dad's brother.
- Those cousins seem the most like my siblings (definitely in looks!) of all the cousins I have.
- We never decide on a name for any of our kids until I am in the delivery room at the hospital.
- We never tell anyone what names were are thinking about until the baby is born and we have chosen a name.
- I love to watch college football.
- I started watching football when I was 8 years old. I would watch it with my Dad.
- I really miss seeing all of the BYU football games--sometimes I listen to them via the internet if I can't watch them.
- Listening to a 4 hour football game on the internet is not as exciting as watching in person or on TV.
- When I was in high school I could quote you stats on any of the players of the Utah Jazz basketball team.
- Caroline went to her first football game when she was 2 months old.
- It was a BYU game--she slept through the entire game--unless the person holding her cheered--if that person was quiet she would sleep the entire time.
- She went to all the football and basketball home games that year.
- She also went to all the home Georgia Tech football games the next year.
- After that it was too expensive to buy season tickets for Carter, Caroline and Matt and I--and not nearly as much fun with a 3 and 1 year old.
- I took Violin lessons for 4 years.
- I took piano lessons for 5 years.
- I was never any good at either one.
- I am a really bad singer--I can sing ok if someone next to me can sing the right notes.
- My friend and I used to call ourselves peer pressure Altos--we could only sing what the person next to us sang.
- I used to have a BMW Z3.

- It was a company car. I had it for 3 years.
- It was the best car ever.
- I would get people stopping me in the parking lot or at intersections to ask me about it.
- I would love to get another one some day. Matt would love to get one now, but it because he knows he is the only one that would ever have a chance to drive it.
- Z3s won't fit 4 carseats!
- I love ice cream
- I really don't like plain chocolate--I like chocolate if there is something else with it--like vanilla ice cream with brownie or brownies with carmel (but I have to have milk or ice cream with it to balance out the chocolate).
- When I was really little I LOVED peanut butter.
- For some reason I stopped loving it and couldn't stand the smell of peanut butter anymore.
- After Carter was born I started liking it again.
- I can't remember the last time I ate chocolate ice cream
- I love to bake--cookies, cinnamon rolls, rolls, apple crisp....mmmmm
- I am not as good of a cook as I am a baker--Matt is much better at blending flavors and cooking than I am.
- I used to make everything from scratch--I didn't know there was such thing as a cake mix until I was 12 and read about it in a book.
- Now I rarely make things completely from scratch--much harder with 3 kids hanging on you.
- I learned to cook when I was 8 years old. My mom taught me through a 4-H course.
- I first learned to cook banana-oatmeal cookies.
- I entered the state fair with my cooking a bunch of times. I won several first place ribbons--and prize money of a few dollars each time.
- I once had a job picking cherries--I earned 10 cents per pound.
- I worked 5 days a week for 2 weeks--about 7 hours per day. I earned $35.00.
- I love reading about World War II.
- I love reading/watching movies about things that really happened. Matt hates watching movies about things that really happened (he says you already know how it turns out so why watch)
- I really don't like going to the beach--I much prefer the mountains.
- That works well because Matt loves to go camping/hiking.
- I am happiest/most relaxed when my house is really clean
- My house is rarely really clean anymore
- If I could spend a day doing anything it would be reading a book I was really excited about reading, and having lots of good food to eat while I read!
I'm sure that is more than you ever wanted to know about me....don't worry--I will return to my more interesting kids shortly!

That was really good!! But it was only 79, right?? What happened to 100? Or am I confused?
It's fun to read your 100!
It was 100--the numbering got messed up when I had the chick fil a logo in--so I took it out and it fixed it :)
Loved it!! SO fun to read.
