60 Years

Today my Grandma and Grandpa Olsen celebrate 60 years of marriage!

They are such wonderful grandparents :) I've always felt lucky to have them in my life. They have been a great blessing in my life.

I've always loved going to their house! Grandma made the best food--and there was always more than anyone could eat.

There were also the favorite quilts that my siblings and I would fight over--she had made them out of old baby blankets and after years and years of use they were the softest blankets ever--by the time I got married the blankets were almost worn to shreds...but we still wanted to sleep with them!

I loved the family parties at Grandma's--a huge yard to play in, lots of fun with my cousins, and, if you were lucky, the frisbee would get stuck on the low roof in the back and someone would have to go up after it!

In college they would come and get me anytime I needed to get away from my roommates for a while--though it took me a long time before I could give anyone directions to their house because coming and going we always went a different route! When Matt was going to law school it was nice to have somewhere we could go and relax and talk with family--and once they even met up with us camping to roast some hot dogs together.

So congratulations Grandma and Grandpa on 60 years together, and thanks for all you have given all of us!
