Happy Birthday Carter!

Carter is 5 years old today! He is such a wonderful boy. We are really so lucky to have him in our family.



Carter takes after his dad in a lot of ways! If you look at pictures of Matt as a toddler, they almost look like twins. But it is more than just looks and a love of Transformers that makes them so alike! Carter is very easy going--he does what he wants. He loves to play with other kids, but if they aren't doing what he wants to do he will do his own thing.

At about 18 months we moved him out of his crib. He soon discovered he could get up in the morning and play--most of the time we would find him downstairs in the middle of a pile of books reading. He has always loved books!

Another great thing about Carter is what a great sleeper he is! From the time he was a baby he was sleeping 20+ hours a day--that continued until he was about 6/7 months old! I could just lay him on a blanket and he would go to sleep--without any effort on my part. Carter still is a great sleeper---always asleep within a few minutes of going to bed.

Carter has a fabulous sense of humor--I've talked about this before, but Carter is one of the funniest kids I know--he is always saying things that make us laugh. The other day we drove past IHOP and he asked if they serve pancakes there. I replied they did and he said it was his favorite restaurant (we haven't been there since he was 3) because their food was "Crazy Good". He is always throwing things out like that, you have to pay attention, but he is hilarious.

Carter also loves to snuggle, give kisses and hugs and is very kind and loving--he is a great boy and we are so lucky to have him a part of our lives! Happy Birthday Carter!
