This picture is exactly how the game went--Alex was terrified by the noise, the rest of the adults were trying to take care of the kids, and Caroline was the only one free to watch the game.
After about 3 innings, it started raining. before long, the tarp came out (never a good sign, because even when it stops raining they leave it out for a while to make sure it doesn't start again). Speaking of which, why can football be played in rain/snow/etc and baseball can't??
While it was raining we headed up to the top of the stands so we wouldn't be sitting out in the rain. Someone was passing out salt water taffy and Aaron got some. Before I knew it it was all over his shorts. I did my best to fix it, but there was no way to do it...so he just had on a shirt and onsie for the rest of the night (yes....I was totally embarrassed and felt a little bit like white trash).
Once the rain let up we went to sky field and let the kids run the baseline
Aaron LOVED running the bases--despite falling a number of times and getting little rocks all over his face and legs...it would have been better if I wasn't so embarrassed that he didn't have pants on.
The game finally restarted--and by 10 pm we had already reached the 5th inning. Alex was already asleep, and the rest of the kids were done so we left.
Caroline was not done...she wanted to stay but she was out voted. She asked Grandpa if, for her birthday gift, the two of them could go to the baseball game--stay the whole time in their seats (no cartoon network booth, no sky field) and watch the game...sing in the 7th inning stretch and watch any fireworks after the game. Grandpa was happy to oblige and they had their date on June 28th--They watched every pitch and had a great time (despite the Braves losing).

We plan to go in August when they play against the Dodgers. Do you have any good tips for making the visit sucessful?
I know that feeling of being embarrassed about your kids being half dressed-- we've been there a number of times due to blow out diapers and red punch.
I think the worst though is when it gets on you and you just have to suffer through it.
Kelleyn--My main tips are to bring your own food--we eat early so we usually eat before we leave for the game, but I still bring all kinds of drinks and snacks (nothing glass) and that helps a lot. I also really like sky field--you can watch the game and keep an eye on your kids (plus all that running tires them out to finish watching the game). We are going in August too --I think 8/2?
Ali--Its nice to hear others stories. I know other people have been there, but when it is you it feels like you are the only one to have ever had that happen :)
I do agree that when it is on you it is the worst--one day we were going for pictures and Alex (11 months) threw up on me and had a blowout. We still went into the mall for the pictures (I hadn't dressed him yet) and the lady asked me if I wanted to be in a picture too--um....no.
