Caroline's 9th Birthday party

Caroline's 9th Birthday party was so fun--how often do you get to join Harry Potter at Hogwarts at a birthday party?

When everyone arrived they had to be sorted--only Gryffindor students would be allowed at the party.  Luckily, all the kids invited made it through sorting.  As a tribute to the special occasion, all the students received their own cape to wear to classes.

After being sorted, it was time to head to Olivander's Wand shop to get a wand
Mr. Ollivander was very kind and let the students personalize their wands
After their wands were ready everyone practiced using them (safely)
No time to play--it was time for Snape's potions class
The potions class was pretty difficult.  Luckily the students didn't make too many things explode
(this was supposed to explode)
They also mixed their own polyjuice potion and had to test the results--on themselves.

Now it was time for a treasure hunt using the Maurader's Map
(can I just add here that there are people with a LOT of time on their hands--if you don't believe me, just look at this link)
The treasure turned out to be a lot of galleons which the girls wanted to spend at Honeydukes.
A special cake had been delivered by the house elves for the birthday celebration.
To fill time before the train departed, the students all gathered at the quidditch field for a few games of quidditch (everyone had brought their own broom for the occasion).
The train was departing, and the golden snitch found, so everyone had to leave...before they left they were told not to practice any of the magic they had learned at school (unless it was an emergency).
