Strawberries!

One of the kids' favorite things to do in the spring is going strawberry picking.  We have done it for 3 years now and as soon as February hits they start asking when we get to go pick strawberries.  I usually take them out of school early (we leave at noon) and drive 40 minutes to a great strawberry farm.  

The strawberries are raised to make it easy to pick them.  Normally the strawberries are huge--at least double what you find in the store, but this year they were really small.  They were also ripe really early this year and I think that the really warm weather we had in Jan/Feb/March probably affected them somehow.

The kids like to look for "Jackpots"--a lot of big, ripe strawberries in one spot.
