The Contraption

Thursday afternoon I was really tired so I decided to take short nap on the couch. Caroline, Carter and Alex spent the time beginning work on what they named "The Contraption".

The Contraption is a work in progress. It started out as a piece of yarn tied from the stairs to the front door. A second piece was added allowing a bag to be lowered and raised from the top of the stairs. The kids spent several hours on Thursday working on it, then more time on Friday. Saturday morning Daddy brought his engineering skills into play and more work was done (mostly because the contraption keeps breaking so it has to be fixed and redone over and over).

The good news is that the kids spent a lot of time where completely entertained, not fighting, and not watching TV!

The bad news is that my foyer and living room/office has pieces of yarn, a few toys (that were used in the basket), and scissors all over the floor....

Not a bad trade off :)

Looks like the engineering gene didn't skip a generation!
