Carter's birthday party

Carter was so excited for his party--he started planning his party about 10 minutes after his party ended last year.

We had Pokemon coloring pages for everyone while we waited for everyone to arrive.

Next was Pokemon Bingo (thanks to the lovely person that did all the work for me on this and allowed me to just print it out!)

Alex was so happy to be able to keep up with the big kids--he knew as much about Pokemon as anyone else.

The next game was the hit of the party.  I found an idea online where a lady made her own Pokemon cards (looked up the info, made the cards, printed them out, cut them out, etc, etc.) then hid them in the yard and had the kids be Pokemon hunters to find the cards.  I loved the idea, but there was no way I had the time (or desire) to make those cards myself.  At the last minute I looked on ebay and found a ton of cards for really cheap--I bought them and (thanks to a super fast postal delivery) hid the cards in the yard.

After the hunt, the pokemon trainers came in to see what they got, and trade with others.

Carter wanted a Lucario Pokemon cake--I was a little nervous as I started with a Winnie the Pooh cake pan, but I have to say I am pretty happy with how it turned out. 

The best compliment was that every boy that came into the party said "cool--Lucario"

Aaron had fun playing with the balloons, and getting lots of attention from the boys.

After cake and ice cream we played "Ash Says" and Pokemon Charades.  

There was also a lot of this.  At one point Caroline said "this party isn't going that well"  I told her that this is what 7 year old boys like to do!  I think they all had a good time, in a 7-year-old boy way.
