Here are some of the funny quotes the kids have given me lately

Carter:  That sounds suspishy  (a combination of suspicious and fishy)

This conversation happened after Alex's speach class when he wouldn't tell his teacher goodbye.  He finally stuck out his tongue at her and ran off (yes...I was so proud)
Carter:  Alex is a total ripoff
Me:  ???  Why?
Carter:  You know--when you go to the store to get something and they don't have it and they give you something else and it is a total ripoff?
Me:  Yes...........?????
Carter:  That is just like Alex--you go to get something and he gives you something else--a total ripoff.

Carter talking to Caroline--she told him she was making something for him for his birthday:
Carter:  I know I'll like it--I'm like mom.
Caroline: ?
Carter:  You know--she likes everything.  Some of the stuff she gets isn't that great, but she likes it, because that is what moms do....I'm like that.

On the way to soccer last spring (I know, a little late) Alex and his friend, Owen, were talking about songs. Owen sang a song (I can't remember what it was) and said "That is my dad's favorite song". Alex replied "My dad's favorite song is "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!"

He later told Owen that Clifford says try-try again don't give up

Yesterday I told Alex I would help him with something when I finished the dishes.  I finally finished and was starting to help him when he just couldn't wait anymore...

Me:  Do you know what patience is?
Alex:  Yes!!!!
Me:  Well, where is your patience?
Alex:  In my tummy--I ate it.
Me:  Why did you eat it?
Alex:  It is hiding in my tummy then it will go to my brain later.

I guess I need to wait until later.
