First Day of School

The kids were so excited for the first day of school.  Alex woke up bright and early at 4:30am....too bad his school doesn't start until September 8th.  Caroline and Carter did not bounce out of bed excited for the first day of school, but once they got going they were excited to start.

Alex and Aaron really missed the Caroline and Carter--it was a long day without the older kids to play with.

Waiting for the bus on the first day of school always reminds me of this picture of Carter,  when Caroline went to Kindergarten the first day:

Aaron was taking his nap, so it was just Alex and I waiting for the bus.  While Carter was sad from missing Caroline, Alex was mad that I wouldn't let him go inside to watch TV.

They both had a great day at school, and had so much to tell me--about their classes, their teachers, all the fun things they were going to do, on and on....I love hearing about what they do all day--as the school year progresses I get less and less each day.

Caroline's Report

• Best thing:  Her teacher (and the fact that her teacher has a bin full of paint---a good sign of things to come).
• Worst thing:  Not having her best friend Jainey in her class--or in any of the classes that she swaps for.  But she does have recess with her, so at least there is something.

Carter's Report

• Best Thing:  His teacher--she is so nice (despite his worry after Aunt Shanna told him she was really mean), and he has lots of his friends from last year in his class again.
• Worst Thing:  Recess.....I was surprised at that until he told me it was so so so hot that it was the worst thing...I can understand that!
