Last week of summer: Back to school Party & Sneak Peek

Thursday morning my mom had a back to school party for all the cousins.  We started out with everyone drinking apple juice--what good is grandma's house if you can't drink juice when you are there?  After the juice the kids played hide the Jello box....apparently Grandma told Ellie that "you were so close, if it was a snake it would have bit you"....so the rest of the game Ellie thought there were snakes hiding by the Jello.

Everyone then ate lunch--hot dogs, juice boxes, strawberries, and cucumbers.  After lunch the kids watched a movie....played a bit and went home.  As much fun as everyone had, the number were smaller than we were used to.....we missed the three cousins that are living in Texas now!

I forgot my camera so here are a few pictures Caroline took:
not sure why the monkey pose...but I love both of the expressions!

The movie was mesmerizing

After the party was over, we came home to get ready for two hours of torture Sneak Peek at the elementary school.  Caroline had found out that one of the very popular first grade teachers had moved to fourth grade, and she was anxious to have her (but trying not to get her hopes up)....well she did!  Caroline is in Ms. Parry's class.  Carter's teacher this year is Mrs. McCollum.  We were waiting to meet her when I saw one of our neighbors.  She told us that Carter had "struck the jackpot" in getting her as a teacher and went on and on about what an incredible teacher she is.  On a side note, we got a letter from Alex's preschool teacher, and he has the same teacher that Caroline had for Pre-K, Mrs. Ely.  We loved her too.  We are very excited for all three kids, it looks like they have a terrific year ahead.
